Manager

You can’t have a great team without great leadership. Just like every FRiDOiD, Friday’s managers are focused on ensuring that every guest leaves happy – and that means making sure every team member’s happy too. When we’re all working flat out, that can be a tall order.

The Job

I’ve worked at Friday’s since December 2008. The whole T.G.I experience is quite different to any of my previous jobs. The training, planning, courses and sheer professionalism from top management throughout the company provides such confidence to do the job. I love it!!

My job involves managing the day to day running of shifts, and planning and organizing forthcoming events. I’m also the bar manager which involves all the usual responsibilities, but I get to make cocktails which is great fun. I have recently been appointed Front of House Manager which means a greater responsibility in managing the team, like doing the rota’s plus usual H.R stuff. Being FOH gives me greater access to guests, and makes me feel more included with the whole guest experience. There’s no better feeling than WOWing your guests.

The team

Its hard work here, there’s so much to do, from the minute we go to work to the minute we finish, it’s non-stop. But the team are great, they work hard and play hard and we have so much fun.

We are all one happy family; we are all there for each other. We all pull together to get the job done, no attitudes or egos. I am very fortunate to be apart of such a great team. They will use any excuse to dress up, Mothers day, Fathers day, Easter. We have team meetings to discuss any events, where everyone contributes to making the event special. We have also been given great recognition and been able to take our teams out for meals and disco dancing, even taken them to Alton Towers.

The management team have all been such great help, since I joined they have made me feel so welcome and part of the team. My GM is a star.

The Perks

Oh its so me!!! I love it!! The whole T.G.I experience is so fun. I am a naturally bubbly and enthusiastic person. The guest experience is so much better when the team enjoy there work. So I get paid to smile – what could be better?

It’s very rewarding and satisfying. The training can be tough, there is so much to learn, and it seems never ending but it’s never a chore, the training is interesting and informative and always fun, and my managers always provide praise and recognition for my effects.

The shifts are flexible and I get time to do the things I enjoy. I love going out with my friends, swimming and playing on my wii. I play golf (although not very well) and I look forward to spending time in the sun, chilling. I have a pet dog (Japanese Akita) who I adore. Her name is Shakira and we simply adore our time out walking on the beach.

The Future

I have been bitten by the Friday’s bug. I can’t see me wanting to work for anyone else. I would love to be a GM and run my own restaurant. One day I would actually like Cain’s job (Ops Director), but not just yet!!

Top tip

Friday’s has endless opportunities for the right people, so whether you are an ambitious career FRiDOiD or a student FRiDOiD – always remember if a job is worth doing, its worth doing right!! If you’re quiet, shy and lazy you need not apply. T.G.I’s is all about working hard, working smart and enjoying your work. Fun, friendly and ambitious is what we want!
