THE JOB

I’ve worked at T.G.I. Friday’s for almost four years. My job involves everything to do with the Kitchen Operation - Food Safety & EHO compliance, menu development and food quality, recipe writing, training, culinary workshops, development and upkeep of learning materials and kitchen design. I’m also trusted to be an inspirational leader to the all of the kitchen teams, sharing my passion for 100% flawless execution of every dish and imparting the knowledge I’ve gained over 39 years in catering. I worked as a chef for 27 years, but anything I’ve done before has absolutely no comparison to my role at Friday’s.

THE TEAM

OMG!! I wish I could spend even more time with my managers and kitchen teams, I love them. The people are FAB, they so want to learn and do a great job, and they keep me young. Sometimes we get it wrong but not through lack of effort or pride. The Support Centre team and Operations team I work with are absolutely first class too. We would all go the extra mile to help each other, and we bend over backwards to ensure that our store teams have everything they need to ensure that they have fun and Every Guest Leaves Happy! We are always in touch with each other and use our different strengths to ensure that we support the store teams.

THE PERKS

I love coaching people on both work and life skills. I like to think that I am making a difference to somebody’s life every day. I’m always on call and always at the end of the phone, DAY or NIGHT! It can mean long hours, but it suits my work ethic and the people here make it all worthwhile. We have a great time organizing events for new store openings, and I loved going to the Las Vegas Bar Team Challenge and Global Conference. My teenage daughters adore FRiDAY’S, too!

THE FUTURE

I am a 54 year old FRiDOiD and live and breathe it! I want to carry on living my work life to the full and hopefully stay with FRiDAY’S until I retire.
