Great Coaches
Every restaurant has its own Great Coaches; team members trained to train our new starters. Some of our team are even trained to become New Store Opening Coaches to support T.G.I. Friday’s restaurant openings across the UK and globally.
El-Box
Upon joining any Friday’s restaurant, every team member undergoes in-store computer based training to cover the following essential knowledge:
- The Disability and Discrimination Act
- Food Safety Foundation
- Health and Safety Foundation
- Licensing Law for Bar Persons
World Bartending Championships
For the past 17 years, T.G.I. Friday's has determined the Greatest T.G.I. Friday's Bartender in the World in this unique international contest. 8,000 of our bartenders start out every year on the quest to be crowned World Champion. After regional, national and European heats, the world’s finest go head to head. The UK has produced two winners in the last three years – yet more evidence of our brilliant team!
Friday’s is firmly focused on great food. We run a global programme throughout our 1000+ restaurants which majors on learning and development within our kitchen teams.
Management Training
Every manager joining Friday’s undergoes eight weeks’ intensive training upon joining. We also run world class management development programmes through the Carlson company’s own university.
